Mila
Khalizova
Mila graduated from the Penza University of Architecture and Construction. The basis of her practice is the exploration of natural elements, respect for nature, and the search for new beauty. On linen canvases, Mila creates objects whose visual impression stems from their tactility. The components are reduced to a minimum; the laconic presentation allows the viewer to appreciate the sculptural quality, the harmony of the materials being connected, and the beauty of the natural substance. The simplicity of the compositions belies the complex process of their creation. From fir cones to seaweed, Mila Khalizova creates amazing canvases from organic materials. The artist interprets his “Baltic Series” as an ode to simplicity and minimalism, a declaration of love for the nature of the Baltic, the culture and traditions of those places.
