Dmitry Romanov is an artist and textile researcher. He graduated from the Stroganov Moscow State Agricultural University with a degree in Design, as well as master's and postgraduate studies at the Stieglitz Moscow State Agricultural University. He teaches at the Department of Artistic Textiles of the A. L. Stieglitz SPGHPA. In his artistic practice, Dmitry experiments with various textile techniques based on fiber weaving, weaving and printing. A special place in his works is occupied by metal wire, a material that combines the plasticity of textiles and the structural properties of metal. Working with wire as a "metal thread," the artist explores new possibilities for shaping, creating objects at the intersection of textiles, sculpture, and decorative art. Interweaving, rhythm, structure, and texture become the primary means of expression in his works. Dmitry's practice aims to expand the boundaries of traditional textiles and explore new plastic solutions that emerge from the dialogue between craft techniques and contemporary materials.
