Panel "Shadow of the Olive Tree" 2024

Olga Malygina
Every shadow is a trace, an imprint of presence. Shadows reveal the invisible side of things: the hidden, the fragile, the secret. In ancient times, the shadow was considered a "second self," a soul that connected the earthly and the eternal. In Jungian psychology, the archetype of the Shadow also holds both secrets and opportunities for growth. Similarly, in this work, the shadow of a tree is not just a play of light, but an invitation to reflect on our own shadows, their gifts, and their challenges. What lies in the shadows of our memories, actions, and creative aspirations? Let the game of the mosaic remind us that our inner light becomes truly visible only through the shadows.
